Special School Board Meeting

Oldham-Ramona School Dist 39-5

October 3, 2011

The Oldham-Ramona School Board of Education met in special session at 7:45 p.m. at the school’s kitchen in Oldham following the Homecoming Coronation activities. Present were Lisa Beyer, Mike Matson, Chandra Waikel, Jay Hojer, and Larry Malcomb by phone. Others present were Dick Amert, Keith Neuharth, Dave Hill, Brian Sieh, and GayLynn Hagemann. Chairman Beyer, who established a quorum was present, called the meeting to order. Unless noted all motions were unanimous.

Action #2996: Motion by Hojer, seconded by Waikel to accept the bid from Amert Construction for the concrete work, $61,900. One other bid received was from Cub Construction for $69,200.

Action #2997: Motion by Matson, seconded by Hojer to accept the bid from Amert Construction for joint sealants, $990. No other bids were received.

Action #2998: Motion by Malcomb, seconded by Matson to accept the bid from Amert Construction for underground plumbing, $9,850. One other bid was received from Dakota Plumbing for $17,419.54.

Action #2999: Motion by Hojer, seconded by Matson to accept the bid from Barger Electric for electrical/site utilities, $1,000. One other bid received was from Bob’s Electric, $3,447.

Action #3000: Motion by Hojer, seconded by Waikel to accept the bid from Reinicke Construction for earth work, $15,050. The additional digging cost is $5.25/cubic yard and compact fill is $12.25/cubic yard beyond the scope of the specified work. No other bids were received.

Action #3001: Motion by Malcomb, seconded by Waikel to accept the bid from Combined Building Specialties for a set of bleachers for the south end of the gym which includes a motion sensor, $17,405. No other bids were received.

The board tabled treating the dirt/soil for termite control (also no bid was received).

The board discussed final changes to the floor plans.

Action #3002: Motion by Matson, seconded by Hojer to surplus the 1992 Chevy Suburban.

Action #3003: Motion by Waikel, seconded by Malcomb to approve purchasing chair dollies and table dollies from School Specialty, price quote $1,699.71.

There was not an executive session.

The next regular meeting of the board is scheduled for Monday, October 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
