Special School Board Meeting

Oldham-Ramona School Dist 39-5

February 3, 2012

The Oldham-Ramona School Board of Education met in special session at 5:30 p.m. at the school. Present were Lisa Beyer, Larry Malcomb, Mike Matson, Chandra Waikel, and Jay Hojer. Others present were Dick Amert, Supt Brian Sieh, and Business Manager GayLynn Hagemann. Chairman Beyer, who established a quorum was present, called the meeting to order. Unless noted all motions were unanimous.

The heater/air conditioner blowers were discussed. The used units that SwiftAir had suggested were found to not be in good shape. Superintendent Sieh will get price information for the next meeting.

The board discussed the current security camera system. There are currently six cameras. The system will contain a maximum of eight cameras. Decision was made to purchase the two additional cameras, a lockbox for the system, and to re-position the cameras as to get the maximum protection.

Dick Amert of Amert Construction completed an energy audit of the gymnasium. The board discussed possibly insulating the ceiling of the gym.

Action #3074: Motion by Malcomb, seconded by Waikel to accept the proposed bid for the concession area cabinets, high definition countertops, and sink from Rosebud Manufacturing, $2,574.

Action #3075: Motion by Hojer, seconded by Malcomb to have Amert Construction replace the screws and washers on the outside of the gymnasium roof, $2,000.

Action #3076: Motion by Matson, seconded by Waikel to have Amert Construction insulate the hot water pipes, install a new window, ladder, and cove style heaters in Mr. Lutter’s classroom above the shop.

Motion #3077: Motion by Malcomb, seconded by Hojer to enter into executive session at 6:25 p.m. to discuss student and staff issues. Chairman Beyer declared the board out of executive session at 7:13 p.m.

The next regular meeting of the board is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the school resource room.

Action #3078: Motion by Matson, seconded by Malcomb to adjourn at 7:14 p.m.
